Dust off your tent, pack warm bedding for you and your ferrets and come along to Tracy and Victor's property at Balkuling to try your hand at ferreting. You will also need to bring water, food suitable for barbequing, your favourite drink and a chair for sitting around the campfire. You are welcome to come for all or part of the weekend, which starts after lunch on Saturday 27th. After arriving, we set up our tents, explore and socialise. We'll enjoy a barbeque tea and drinks around the fire in the evening and rise early on Sunday morning to test our hunting skills before a late breakfast. The agenda will be repeated for Sunday night and Monday morning. Please note: no dogs allowed. If you require a map and detailed instructions to get to the property, please pick them up at the General Meeting (Monday 11 Aug 03) or phone Victor or Tracy on 9451 3668 to have them emailed, faxed or posted to you. |

We would like to advise members that at this moment in time there will NOT be a Balkuling Field Trip for 2004. The main reason being that the three warrens on our property have been abandoned by the rabbits. Our neighbour has only seen 4 rabbits in the last couple of months and they appeared to be affected by myxymatosis - so there are no rabbits. Also the turn out was fairly poor. We would like to thank Rosemary, Alex, Digby, Kurt, Emma, Lyn and Don for joining us on the weekend. We may be arranging camping trips - ferrets welcome even if there are no rabbits - throughout the year. People will be notified when this is likely to occur. |
